HOME OFFICE,

WHITEHALL.

31st January, 1930.

sir,

With reference to your letter of the 20th instant

(72720/1/~0) regarding the re-admission to this country

of a Russian nursemaid named Moorsin, I am directed by

Mr. Secretary Clynes to say, for the information of ord

2assfield, that leave to an alien to land in the United

Kingdom cannot be given in advance. It rests with every alien to satisfy the Immigration Officer at the port of arrival in this country that he or she can properly be

given leave to land under the rovisions of the aliens

Order, 1920, but Mr. Clynes does not think that, in the

circumstances of this particular case, f. Dunnett need anticipate that Moorsin will experience difficulty in

obtaining such leave. If a condition is imposed limiting

the period of her stay in this country it will be open to her at the end of that time to apply for a suitable

extension.

I am,

jir,

Your obedient Servant,

The Under Secretary of state,

COLONIAL OFFICE.
